Wschód słońca nad Kolsås

Na tę sobotę planowałem zupełnie inne trasy. Właściwie to jedną z dwóch, ale do ostatniej chwili nie potrafiłem się zdecydować, którą wybrać. I wtedy skontaktowała się ze mną znajoma z propozycją szybkiej wycieczki na Kolsås, górkę w jej okolicy i wejście z samego rana, by móc podziwiać wschód słońca ze szczytu.

Kolsås to góra położona w gminie Bærum, tuż za granicami Oslo i w obrębie przylegajacej do stolicy Sandviki. Masyw ma dwa wierzchołki: Nordre Kolsås (380m n.p.m.) oraz Søndre Kolsås (328m n.p.m.). My mieliśmy wejść na ten drugi, od południowej strony. Oba szczyty porasta las, ale miałem nadzieję, że znajdzie się jakieś miejsce, z którego cokolwiek będzie można dojrzeć. W końcu to dość popularna wśród miejscowych górka, jakieś prześwity muszą być tam na górze.

Wschód słońca był przewidziany na godzinę szóstą z minutami, umówiliśmy się zatem o piątej pod domem znajomej, a potem podjechaliśmy na Toppåsveien, gdzie rozpoczynał się szlak. Wciąż jeszcze było ciemno, ale pomału zaczynało się przejaśniać. Było też zimno, więc trzeba było szybko się rozruszać. Szliśmy bez przystanku, trasa nie była ani trudna, ani tym bardziej długa. Doszliśmy na miejsce na długo przed wschodem, mieliśmy więc sporo czasu na znalezienie odpowiedniego miejsca na podziwianie nadchodzącego spektaklu. Uśpione jeszcze miasto w dole w szarościach przedświtu też prezentowało się okazale.

A potem pojawiło się słońce. Nie było czystego nieba, ale chmury uczyniły ten wschód jeszcze bardziej spektakularnym. W ruch poszły telefony, kamera i aparat. Z uwagi na granice rezerwatu przyrody na górze Kolsås, latanie dronem jest tam zabronione.

Gdy najciekawsze było już za nami, pokręciliśmy się jeszcze chwilę po szczycie cykajac fotki. Potem zaczęliśmy schodzić, zatrzymując się na moment na jednym z punktów widokowych niżej. Wróciliśmy do auta i na tym wycieczka się skończyła.

I had planned completely different routes for this Saturday. Actually, one of two, but I couldn’t decide which one to choose until the last minute. And then a friend contacted me with a proposal of a quick trip to Kolsås, a hill in her vicinity, and climbing it early in the morning to admire the sunrise from the top.
Kolsås is a mountain located in the municipality of Bærum, just outside Oslo, within Sandvika area. The massif has two peaks: Nordre Kolsås (380 m above sea level) and Søndre Kolsås (328 m above sea level). We were supposed to climb the latter, from the south. Both peaks are covered in forest, but I was hoping that there would be a place from which I could see something. After all, it’s quite a popular hill among the locals, there must be some openings up there.
Sunrise was scheduled for couple minuetes past six o’clock, so we arranged to meet at five at a friend’s house, and then we drove to Toppåsveien, where the trail began. It was still dark, but it was slowly starting to clear up. It was also cold, so we had to get moving quickly. We walked without stopping, the route was neither difficult nor long. We arrived well before sunrise, so we had plenty of time to find a suitable place to admire the upcoming spectacle. The still-sleeping city below also looked impressive in the predawn gray.
And then the sun appeared. There was no clear sky, but the clouds made this sunrise even more spectacular. Phones, cameras and cameras were in use. Due to the boundaries of the nature reserve on Kolsås Mountain, flying a drone there is prohibited.
When the most interesting part was behind us, we hung around the peak for a while longer, taking photos. Then we started to descend, stopping for a moment at one of the viewpoints lower down. We returned to the car and that was the end of the trip.
